The short version
Seoul Feed does not collect personal information. You don't need an account, you don't provide your name or email address, and we have no way to identify you as an individual. We collect only the minimum anonymous data needed to keep the app working.
What we collect
We collect a small amount of anonymous, non-identifiable data to understand how the app is used and to manage subscriptions:
- Anonymous usage data — for example, which sections of the app are visited, so we can improve the experience. This data cannot be linked back to you.
- Purchase receipts — when you subscribe, Apple processes the payment and passes an anonymous purchase receipt to RevenueCat (our subscription management service). This receipt confirms your subscription status but contains no personal details.
What we don't collect
We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your location
- Any information that could identify you as an individual
There is no account or login required to use Seoul Feed.
Third-party services
Seoul Feed uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
We use Supabase to store app content such as news summaries. No personal user data is stored there.
RevenueCat manages subscription status. They receive an anonymous purchase receipt from Apple when you subscribe, which they use to verify and restore your subscription. They do not receive your name or contact details. You can read their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
All payments are processed entirely by Apple. Seoul Feed never sees your payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction and can be found at apple.com/legal/privacy.
AI summarisation
Seoul Feed uses AI to summarise Korean culture news from third-party sources, including Soompi, Koreaboo, and HelloKpop. The AI processes publicly available news articles to produce English-language summaries. This process involves no personal data — it operates entirely on published news content.
Data retention
Because we do not store personal data, there is nothing personal to retain or delete. Anonymous usage analytics are aggregated and not linked to individuals.
Purchase and subscription data held by RevenueCat is retained according to their own data retention policy. You can contact RevenueCat directly if you have questions about data they hold related to your subscription.
Children
Seoul Feed is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and you have concerns, please contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
